A visit to the National Museum of Singapore

Cannot even imagine when was the last time I went to the national museum....anyway since its free for Singapore citizen and since I am free...I decided to pop by and take a look.

Most of the exhibits are on Singapore history such as colonial days under the British, Japanese invasion and road to independence. Saw alot of LKY exhibits also, such as his red box, his office, bicycle, robes and the role watches given to him by the union workers.
My favorite was this place made to look like an open air movie drive thru. There was actually such a place in Jurong during the early days. There were cars decorated seats under a starlit ceiling in a dark room. The seats were actually v comfortable and I felt reluctant to get up after the show. The movie was a collection of places and events in Singapore during the 70s and 80s with xinyao music playing in the background. Felt a sense of nostalgia as I can identify with these era.
After that, I somehow landed in Bugis plus and decided to get myself a churros from churros 101 which is a popular chain from Korea. Tried the cream cheese filled churros at $4.70. Quite expensive for a small churro and frankly speaking, dun find anything fantastic about it. The cream cheese filling are not cheesy enough for me, felt more like custard.

Xmas at Garden by the Bay

Decided at the last minute after dinner for a walk at Garden by the Bay to work out the seafood. Luckily, the yuletide festivities started today. Besides the same lighting and stores from last year, there was a carnival for kids to play ice skating and snow. A nice place to soak in some xmas atmosphere.

Uncle Leong Seafood

Dinner was chilli crab at Uncle Leong Seafood at Rivera. Al fresco style seafood dinning with hubby....finally satisfied my crab craving. The crab was nice but the chilli sauce was kind of watery.

Macdonald fries cushion

Ordered Macdelivery yesterday just so I can get this fries cushion at $5 available only thru macdelivery or drive thru. Macdonald came up with a new menu yesterday after the samurai burger and seaweed shaker fries. This time, it's truffle flavour shaker fries. The truffle smell is too strong for my liking. So, this is good news for me as I can happily sworn off macdonald now. Haha....

New dinning table lights

We finally decide to change the lights above the dinning table. Voila~ the new lights made the house look much brighter. Plus I can decorate it with some dangling stuffs for Xmas. No more dead insects too!

Lunch at shimbashi soba

Hubby is on leave today so we went Orchard Paragon for lunch. Eating my all time favourite beef soba....yum....

Cycling day & chill out at izakaya

It has been more than 10 years since I ride a bicycle. I'm surprised that I'm still able to cycle after all these years. We rented the bike from punggol settlement and from there we cycled to Coney island. I really enjoyed myself v much. What a change of scenery! I feel so nostalgic cycling again.

The trail in Coney island is very rugged. It's quite fun actually as u can feel v close to nature. There were a lot of butterflies along the trail too and since it's a Monday, there were hardly anybody around and u feel like u are alone with nature. Peace and tranquillity.....priceless.

From Coney island, we exited to Lorong Halus and from there we continue to Punggol waterway for a break and a bite before heading back to Punggol settlement.  Must b getting old coz after 2 hrs, our butt are hurting from riding the bike esp poor old hubby.

In the evening, dear old donki suggested chilling out at a izakaya at punggol settlement. It's a new place for ppl in punggol to have al fresco dining near the waterfront. Lots of nice restaurants. Good place to chill out. Cheers!

Kawaii makeup stash from Japan

My recent haul of kawaii makeup from Japan. Loved the cute packaging!

Pierre Herme and Japan

Japanese sure love Pierre Herme alot. I even saw pierre herme yogurt in the supermarket.

It taste like the filling in the macaroon. Awesome...once I started eating, it's quite hard to stop.
And the pierre herme shops in Japan have much nicer looking box than those in France. Also, they have smaller boxes for containing 3 or 4 macaroons unlike in France. It's the same for Laduree also.
The flavor of this month for Pierre Hermr is Jardin Zen, which is chocolate and white miso. It has such a interesting taste. At first bite, u only taste the chocolate, the miso taste come after that, leaving u with a salty aftertaste. I find the saltiness a bit too strong for me.

ANA lounge -Narita Airport

Preparing to go back home. Food selection at ANA lounge was great. Enjoying the view while eating....

Yummy food in Japan

Ate this lobster pasta lunch set at a nice restaurant in a departmental store in osaka for less than $30 SGD!

Followed by charcoal grilled crabs from dotonbori Osaka.
Finally get to try this pablo cheese cake which is highly rated on the Internet.  However, I find it too eggy for my taste and its not cheesy enough for me. I do like the jam sauce covering the top of the cake.
Ordered this ikuradon set from Nakau, which is a fast food chain selling don and soba etc 24 hrs. It's cheap and nice.
Tried oyakodon made of cochin chicken
And the famous unagi rice from maruya hoten near Nagoya station. It was very delicious!
And not to forget, ichiran.
This is like the most delicious mochi I ever eat. It literally melts into your mouth the moment u bite into it.
And gintaro with mentaiko sauce
Sancai kishimen in Nagoya castle
Dandan ramen at a noodle shop near my hotel
Fujisoba from Akihabara
Cheap takeaway bento from Queens Isetan supermarket. It cost less than SGD $6! Cheap and fresh delicious seafood don.
Yummy crepes from harajuku Angel Hearts. Compared to Marion Crepes, the crepe has a softer chewier texture while Marion's crepe has a nicer fragrance.
Interesting and fun way to eat sushi at Uobei. U ordered ur food via a touchscreen and it will be delivered straight to u via the conveyor train. A piece of fatty tuna sushi for only 200 plus yen. It literally melts in my mouth.
