Totoro cream puff at Shiro-hige

Situated about 12mins train ride away from Shinjuku Station at Setagaya Daita station was this quaint little cafe tuck away in a quiet residential area.

The staircase lead up to the cafe and the door on the left leads to the shop selling cream puffs and other pastries for takeaway.

The menu as shown. We tried the spaghetti aglio oilo with prawns and tomato. The tomatoes were really sweet and nice. However, the pasta did not look like a typical aglio oilo type of pasta...more like a soupy version. Anyway, just go for the totoro puffs will do.

We chose the matcha with azuki bean puff which is the one wearing a yellow hat and a strawberry puff which is the one wearing a pink sakura flower.

Conclusion: the puff were more sturdy and harder than we thought. Taste wise was ok. Not the wow fantastic type of cream puff but good as the puff was crispy and the cream was delicious and abundant.
We were lucky to be able to get a seat inside after abt 10mins wait as everywhere was damn crowded during the golden week period.

Ending phase of blue nemophila

The ending of the blue nemophila at hitachi seaside park. Most of the flowers had withered and poppies were starting to pop out among the nemophila.

Can see more greenish among the blue flowers. Weather was super hot, like Singapore weather. This year, due to the unusual hot weather, most flowers withered earlier than usual.

Singapore polar bear dies...

Today marks the day where Inuka passed away. I believe he had lived a better life than half of the entire human race and most of the polar bears living in the wild even though he was in captivity. Rest In Peace. 💐

Playing Pokemon on a full moon night

When I on my Pokémon go game on my hp last night, the graphics changed to 8bit retro type. Think it’s quite cute and reminds me of nanobeads version of Pokémon. It’s actually Niantic form of April’s fools day joke. Haha....

View of the playground near my house. The moon was super big and round that night and feels more like a super moon to me. Maybe that’s the first full moon of spring?? The pic taken with hp makes the moon look like a ball of light instead....
Still playing my Pokémon game after so long and getting more addicted to it....now it has a mission story mode. Hopefully the game will get better and maybe become a VR game in future... just like the movie ‘Ready Player 1’ directed by Steven Spielberg.

V nice movie about ppl in future living their lives mostly in VR. I would rather live in VR world rather than this real world which is ugly, twisted and full of lies...but then I agreed with one thing from the movie and that is ‘only in the real world can you get a good meal...’which is v true. The only good thing that separate real world and VR world is delicious good food.

The last 2 times he ate them, he seems fine. Hope he is ok and dun vomit or anything...

Birthday lunch at Summer Pavilion Ritz Carlton

This year, I did something which I never did before. Going to work on my birthday. I regret it and I promised myself never to make this mistake ever again due to some nasty uncivilized ppl in the workplace who just wana ruin your day....
Anyway I took leave the next day which is a Friday so I could have a long weekend.

I decided to have my bday lunch at Summer Pavilion as I have never eaten there before.
We took this osmanthus lunch set at $88 per pax.

We ordered a pot of their best selling Lychee Oolong tea. First dish was this chicken soup with a v thick broth which reminds me of 美人锅, rich in collagen type of soup. It was delicious!

Next is this dim sum platter. The abalone was soft and well flavored.

Next is this prawn dish. The prawn was sweet and fresh but think the portion is kindda too little....

The main dish is this glutinous rice with scallops. The glutinous rice was v fragrant and soft. It was delicious.
Again, the king scallop was kinda small or was it cut into smaller pieces?

Lastly was this chilled dessert. Yum yum...delicious!
Overall, although the quality of the food was nice but the portion was too little. At the end of my 5 meal course, I was only half full...haha...
