Lunch at Banana Tree

Juz happened to drop by Banana Tree after eating duck noodle at a nearby coffeeshop.

Since it was still too early to go back to work, we decide to try their tiny red bean bingsu dessert.
Banana Tree is famous for their flower pot style dessert. The bingsu is really nice, the milk shaved ice was v smooth. My two other colleagues enjoyed it v much as it taste way better than the one we ate in vivo....welcome to the world of bingsu~ haha

Paella and more cute macaroons....

Went to Pasarbelle again this weekend for lunch and also to buy more macaroons. I tried the paella at Papitos and it's not bad. The chicken was v nice, I am referring to the one which you have to add extra $$. It's soft and tender, juicy and the skin was crispy.

A box of this paella for 1 person with additional ingredient was about $12-$14.
Me and hubby each ordered a box. Mine is the one with additinal chicken and his is the box with additional seafood. Lots of people with kids around, especially foreigners.
This time round, I saw more cute character macaroons. A box of this 10 macaroons cost me only $28. Think they having some kind of CNY promotion at the moment.

Women's weekly magazine roadshow

Had lunch at Raffles place today coz one of my colleagues wanted to check out the women's weekly roadshow event. At first, I wasn't interested in signing up for the magazine but after seeing the goodie bag, it seems stupid not to sign up coz the cost of the goodie bag alone is more than the cost of the subscription for 1 year.

The cost of 1 year magazine subscription is $30 and it comes with a goodie bag with the below goodies, and free half year digital subscription of amother magazine of my choice.
In addition to that, if u join their mailing list and upload their pic onto your instantgram, u get to spin the wheel and win more freebies. I got myself a pillow and free juice drink. Hehee....what a fun lunchtime today!

Van Gogh art film at The Projector

Went to watch this art film at the Projector with hubby today. Surprisingly, I din fall asleep during the 1.5 hr film. Maybe because I have seen most of his art works in various museums over the world so I am able to appreciate the content of the film. A pity it was held at the Projector room instead of at the Esplanade at the National Art gallery. It deserve better recognition here.....maybe singapore art week is only about appreciating art from Singapore instead of from other countries.....
Personally, I dun think there is much of a art scene here in Singapore.

Hoshino Coffee

Had lunch with my mom at Plaza Sing today to celebrate her birthday. Decided to try Hoshino since I have not tried it before. The matcha souffle was v nice, as the matcha taste was strong to my liking. A pity it sink pretty fast....
For the fuwa rice risotto, I like the fluffy egg texture on top of the rice. Wonder how they make the egg so fluffy and soft....

Monster Curry

Ended up having dinner at Monster Curry with hubby at NEX after work today. Even though it's a Tuesday, we still have to wait about 5-10mins before getting a seat. Seems like it's quite popular as the queue never seems to stop. We shared the monster egg curry. It's better than I expected. The curry was v tasty and addictive. The cheese was melted on the egg. I like how the cheese gets pull into string like texture as I scoop into my mouth. Yumyum....the fried items were hot and crispy. No wonder it's so popular.

Bonheur Pattiserie Macaroon

First time exploring the Grandstand  and chanced upon this little shop selling alot of cute macaroons inside Pasarbelle. They have miffy shaped macaroons, hello kitty shaped, cookie monster, and all sort of cute characters shaped macaroons. Can't resist getting it and ended up with 10 pieces of macaroons. Frankly speaking, it taste pretty good, in no way inferior to Laduree especially the yuzu macaroon. Because it's freshly baked and not deep freeze and flown in from overseas, it had a crisp shell and no sticky feel when I sank my teeth into it. Pricewise, quite reasonable and affordable.

Morning jog at punggol park

I actually went jogging with hubby this Saturday morning at punggol park near my house. Can't remember when is the last time I actually did any exercise...and becoz of that, I'm getting out of shape. I did a brisk walk to the park and my body is already telling me to stop....it's resisting the workout.....haha
But I did managed to complete 1 round of jogging around the park. At the end of it, it actually feel good. Felt more refreshed and alive. Will be gg again to jog tomorrow. Aiming for a healthy lifestyle now and getting rid my ponchie.....

First work lunch in 2016-Ginza Tendon

Finally get the chance to pop by Ginza Tendon at Tanjong Pagar during lunchtime to try their special don set.

I ordered the special don set which comes with fried veggie, egg, chicken and prawn. It was like a mountain of tempura. I like the brown sauce drizzled over it as it goes well with the tempura and rice. Taste like unagi sauce to me. The whole set comes with chawamushi, miso soup and free pickles and cost about $16.35 after sv and GST.  Service was prompt and good. Although the food was good and cheap, I dun think I will ever try it again unless I wana smell like a walking tempura after that. My hair and clothes reek of oil smell. By the time I left around 12.15pm,  there was already a long queue of ppl waiting outside. Guess they either dun mind smelling like oil or they dunoe....
